About Wild Bower Studio

Nicole Helen Brunner (she/her) is a visual artist and sculptor working in ceramics, painting, textiles, and collage.

Initially trained in drawing and painting at Ramapo College of NJ, Parson's School of Design, and the Art Student's League of NY, Nicole’s artistic practice has evolved to include a deep passion for ceramics, mixed media and textiles. a little over 10 years ago, nicole discovered the magic of ceramics and dove into the world of pottery head first.

She opened a community pottery studio in Brooklyn, NY where she taught and provided support to upwards of 50 members. In 2019 Nicole relocated to the bucolic landscape of Mountaindale, NY. there she built out an art studio that is powered by solar energy and rainwater with focus on making her studio an environmentally sustainable workspace.

Her work is grounded in a sustained engagement of material transformation from clay to everyday materials like magazines, aluminum cans, plastic, synthetic clothing and more to investigate grief, mortality, gender norms and environmental themes through a feminist perspective.
