Rent a Kiln

Wild Bower Studio is home to two kilns, which we will gladly rent to others who need to fire their work.

• Gary the Kiln is a Skutt KM 1227 kiln, who fires up to cone 04. Ideal for those with a large amount of Bisque or low fire clay.

• Gerty the Kiln is a Skutt KM 1027 kiln, who fires up to cone 6. Great for bisque firing along with cone 6 glaze firing.

Firing Your Work

Have some pottery that you’d like to fire? We’re happy to help!

We mainly fire to cone 6 but also welcome low fire clay, which fires to cone 06. You’ll need to know what temp your clay fires to in order to move forward.

Firing costs .12 cents a cubic inch. Minimum height of 2” (if your piece is say 1” you’ll measure it as 2”). Firing fees are to be paid in advance via cash (exact change) or venmo. Turn around time is roughly 1 - 5 weeks depending on our firing schedule.
